Yvonne Selecki is a doctor by day and a Bob Dylan tragic by night. She works at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research developing computer software for doctors and conducting clinical trials. Her career has spanned working in a gaol for adolescent girls, co-producing medical reality TV and writing science documentaries. Working with disadvantaged teenagers with mental and social problems has given her the unswerving belief that the right intervention at the right time can turn around a young person’s life. As part Family Planning Association Ethics Committee for five years she has first-hand experience of the legal and ethical dilemmas that arise when trying to deliver the best health care. She volunteers at Limmud Oz as Programming Co-chair where all of these experience and interests can come together in one place.
