As every Jewish educator knows, there is no simple way to teach about Israel in the 21st century. The teacher’s own perspective about the place of Israel in Jewish life will always have enormous implications. In this session we will explore four distinct ‘versions’ of Israel we might teach and the implications of each. Hopefully we can educate students to relate to Israel with some nuance and sophistication, alongside their passion.
