Did you know that there has been a constant Jewish presence in Central Asia for 2,700 years? A descendant of the last Emir of Boukhara’s Court Poet, Yvonne Green explores the history and culture of the Jews of Boukhara (modern-day Uzbekistan) and their Judaeo–Tajik language (written in Rashi script). This Jewish community was integral to the founding of the Silk Routes and constituted the First Aliyah to Israel in the 1890s to 1910s. Where is the Boukharan Jewish community today?
