A year ago I was staying on Kibbutz Almog in the Negev, the northern part of the Dead Sea, near the Qumran Caves. As a walker and lover of the desert, I was up early each day, stepping out into the large moonlight-filled land. One day I took a recommended route and had the experience of being lost and eventually rescued. What happened in between is the desert story that I would like to tell.
