The Jew is presented by great 20th-century English writers as an opportunist, anti-hero, schlemiel, stranger, intellectual, devil, swindler—and as an archetype of the human condition. In this session, we will look at how authors like James Joyce, E. M. Forster, George Orwell, Graham Greene and T. S. Eliot present the Jew in their literary works.
